In 1980, Evergrow Seed Company is established in Tainan City Taiwan for business expansion to include a wider research and development of vegetable and flower species which are important in tropical and subtropical regions, and with emphasis on the development and promotion of Evergrow brand name.
Evergrow seed in the past two decades have developed and released over 1000 hybrids, which cover fruit vegetable: Solanaceous: hybrid tomato, pepper, eggplant. Cucurbits: hybrid watermelon, muskmelon, pumpkin, gourd etc.. Crucifers: hybrid cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli. Maize: super sweet corn, glutinous corn. Hybrid okra and other oriental leafy vegetables. Evergrow's breeding stations are strategically located in Asia to breed for subtropical as well as temperate species.
Mr. Leo Yi-Liang Ho, the founder of Evergrow Seed was the breeder/seed specialist of Asia Vegetable Research & Development Center (AVRDC) for over 10 years since the establishment of AVRDC from 1972 to 1983. Evergrow is among the earliest seed companies in Taiwan to become ISF and APSA member. Our active participation in these organizations have enable Evergrow to keep close contacts with seed markets in different part of the world and able to obtain a constant relevant feedback for our breeding programs. Hence we are very close to various specific markets, and very responsive to their market needs.
